The multi-systemic consequences of childhood and adolescent trauma

Patrick Bordeaux, M.D., completed his premed courses at Fordham University and received his medical degree and his residency training in psychiatry at Université Laval in Quebec City.

During his years of training, he studied at the Child Psychiatry Branch of The National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland with Dr. Judith Rapoport, M.D. Dr. Bordeaux is currently an associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry & Neuroscience at the School of medicine, Université Laval in Quebec City, Canada. He travels extensively in America, Europe and Asia to lecture on Motivational Interviewing and traumas and addictions among children and adolescents.

He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) and of The American Psychiatric Association (FAPA), a Diplomat of the American Board of Addiction Medicine (DABAM), and a member of The Canadian Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Bordeaux currently practices child and adolescent psychiatry in the provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada.

He is the co-author with Dr. George F. Koob, Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), of the book: Escaping Addiction, Resetting the Brain (Se libérer de l’Addiction, en reprogrammant son cerveau) already released in French in Canada, France, Belgium and Switzerland and to be published in English in The United States, the UK, and other countries in the spring of 2023.
